Hi all,

Had a deviated septum surgery coming up, and also knew my wife would be going per diem end of January for the kids…

So I figured why not schedule the surgery beginning of January and jump on her insurance for open enrollment while keeping my insurance through my employer.

I put in my insurance as primary (Anthem blue cross), and my insurance through wife as secondary (Blue Cross of Massachusetts).

Shockingly they’re both arguing the other is primary. So strange too as they’re not super greedy companies that don’t care at all about people and instead only money (/s)…

If anyone could help with a couple questions I’d really appreciate it.

My personal insurance through my employer should be considered primary right? Policy through wife’s would be considered secondary?

Being that I actually believe you folks are bilingual as insurance really is another language, is there anything you think I should be aware of that I’m likely not?

Goal of course is to get them to cover as much as possible…

Thank you!
