Does Health Insurance with A Defined OOP Cap Exist?

Open enrollment, just realized to my horror that even though my insurance card lists an XXXX dollar out of packet maximum on out of network visits with a 30% coinsurance, when I called the benefits center to ask, they confirmed that the OOP max does not apply to hospital visits. What happens if I travel and end up in an ICU or hospital for a few weeks? That’s tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars. The rep told me hospital indemnity exists from 3rd parties. I briefly googled supplemental indemnity coverage, but likewise that might cap out at 1000 a day whereas an ICU visit can cost 10 x that per day. I just worked really hard to get debt free and never want to go back, but the thought of bumping my head while traveling to ski, brain bleed –> ICU –> floor –> rehab –> $100,000 bill is terrifying. Literally makes me want to get “Bring to in network hospital” tattooed across my chest.

Is there an insurance plan where there is a true cap on out of pocket expense yearly regardless of in network or out of network status that includes ICU level care and hospitalizations? Ideally I would like to just set the OOP cap in a bank account for emergencies and know I’m covered. I’m young and healthy and can afford decent premiums. Thank you.

Or if one does not know the direct answer, are there health insurance brokers where you can speak with a live human similar to local financial planners? Thanks again.
