Do I qualify for medi-cal? Or am I getting benefits illegally

Hi all!

The other day a friend asked me how I can afford my very expensive medication when we don't make a ton of money at our company. I answered medi-cal covers the co-pay and she mentioned that we make too much money to qualify for medi-cal. I was so confused looked it up and saw the only people who qualify are those making less than minimum wage in my city. I'm now concerned that I should not be getting these benefits. When I first got this job right out of school I called medi-cal and asked them to cancel it, in that call they mentioned that I was actually still qualified if I would like to keep it. I don't understand how when I make more than the 128 percent federal poverty line they would say that? I am under 26 and my family members make less than the required amount so could it be that I am still technically under their plan and it doesn't matter how much money I make? I'm confused! Thanks so much!

Btw I am 25 living in San Diego and make 30 dollars an hour
