Do I File a Report with the Dental Insurance?

Hello!

Back in January my mother had dental work done and needed 2 crowns. The administrative receptionist told her insurance may not cover it, but if she wanted to proceed, she would need to pay around $2,000 out of pocket. However, in any case if the insurance does cover it after they file the claim then we would be refunded. Few days ago, a dental claim statement from her came in the mail and lo and behold her crowns along with the procedures were covered around $1800. I went into the dental office with her on Wednesday and asked about some portion to be refunded. The same receptionist said she will do the adjustments and contact me tomorrow which was yesterday. By the time I was off of work and still had not heard from her I called the dental office, and another receptionist said that receptionist had already left and will forward my info for her to contact me today morning. Again, did not hear anything so called again, but no one is picking up the phone and I know they are not closed on Fridays. I will probably end up dropping by after work today and see what is up. In any case if they keep on delaying, is there anything my mother can do? Can we contact the dental insurance to file a report that my mother paid, and they also paid the dental office? Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you!
