Diagnostic mammo with insurance & deductible met still over $400

I have UHC through my employer and have met my over $3k deductible so now I have to pay 40% coinsurance, whatever the hell is the point of that, and I have a lump in my right breast. I am 1 month away from my free annual mammogram but my doctor wants me to get a diagnostic one now (honestly not sure if there is a difference other than any mammogram that isn't annual is diagnostic?) Anyway, provider and imaging are both in-network and I'm being told the mammogram will be over $400. Can someone explain wtf? I already called my insurance and bitched but I want to know wtf is the point of insurance? I paid over $3000 since Oct, plus monthly premium to have insurance, I STILL have to pay 40% coinsurance, and now hundreds of dollars for a diagnostic test!?! I'm also supposed to get an ultrasound but at this point, I haven't even bothered to try and schedule that because I'm so angry.

Anyone have any idea if there is any way to get them to reduce the cost or cover it entirely? I'm sick to my stomach over this because we're literally just talking about a freaking mammogram for crying out loud. I honestly can't even imagine what will happen if it turns out to be cancer. I'm thinking it's better to just wait a month and get the free one because fuck this shit. Sorry for the rant but honestly.
