Denied MRI a 4th time… What can I do?

So I’ve run into major roadblocks in getting diagnostic imaging for my near constant headaches, mobility issues and a popping sound that happens with migraines and a bloody and salty taste in my mouth. My neurologist thinks my issues can be unrelated to my spinal injury. He’s suspecting my chiari malformation might have shifted further and I probably have had a lingering CSF leak as well. However my insurance (Florida Employee Blue Cross Blue Shield) wants me to do four more months of PT thinking it will resolve my neurological issues because they actually said to my doctor they think it’s functional neurological disorder.

I for one don’t have FND, I broke my neck when I was 15 and had a severe TBI with a DAI which in virtually all cases includes a torn mialin sheath which can cause a CSF leak which I have typical symptoms of, and I have a documented traumatic type 1 chiari which was caused by my head injury.

So what can I do? Every time I get PT it resolves my physical pain but doesn’t treat the underlying issues. I was declared physically disabled as part of my injury settlement, but I’m functional enough now that I still am my parents insurance.

I might add that my doctor did a peer to peer review and they still denied me even with almost 10 years of documents and 3 MRIs that have been read by the top neurologists and neurosurgeons at Jefferson. The top neurologist at Jefferson did confirm the torn mialin sheath but my MRI on my brain was on a old MRI machine that didn’t have good resolution and was taken right after my injury.
