I've been going to my dentist for three years. They have been absolutely amazing with dealing with my insurance and always finding loop holes to get me the most money saved.

My husband went there for the first time. He was told he needed a root canal. They told him it would be $960. We paid that out of pocket and he fot his root canal.

Two weeks later I get an email that he owes the dentist $740 dollars for a root canal. I call them right away. They told me that since my husband didn't have his new insurance for a year, we were ONE MONTH short of a 'waiting week' and the insurance denied it.

I never heard of a waiting week and I'm pretty pissed that they didn't know this or help us with this. She told me on the phone 'this is our (dentist office) fault but u still have to pay it'…. what?! He could of waited one month, no problem at all. Now we owe all of this money.

I'm just asking for advice if there is anything we can do about this. Yes, we are stupid, we know. We just truly didn't know it was a thing. Hard lesson learned. But I'm asking if there might be another option?

Thanks everyone
