Dazed & Confused by Pennie/Medicaid (Pennsylvania)

What's next? My husband just lost his job, and with it, our insurance. Knowing that this is a qualifying life event, I went on Pennie to look prices. (COBRA coverage was out of the question at $1700/mo). Was very encouraged when I did the basic shopping & when I answered the questions it indicated that we might qualify for tax credits that made it workable. Found a plan, put it in my cart & proceeded to the application process. That's when the bottom fell out. It said we were not eligible for subsidies, but that we might qualify for Medicaid, so that information was being forwarded to them for review. I wanted to cry. As far as I can tell, our income is too high for Medicaid, but what caused Pennie to take away the tax credits? Was it because we now have $0 monthly income? I figured what my husband's AGI was from his paystubs, & added about $10000 in expected income for the remainder of the year. My eligibility letter said it was "based on the monthly household income on your application." What's next? Did I screw myself by being truthful? I can't see how we would qualify for Medicaid – doesn't it go by annual income? Ironically, my need for insurance is now greater due to the anxiety and stress of this whole process!
