Hi,

This might be a silly question and idea but I recently got a new job that offers insurance through Kaiser, and personally not my first or second choice for healthcare. Don’t care for the facilities in general (due to personal experience) & it’s actually pretty far from me. I’m turning 26 so I will fall off my parents PPO soon so I am grateful for something of course! It’s just because for my healthcare Kaiser really isn’t the best option for me.

I was wondering if I could have coverage from both my employer and CoveredCA. My idea is choosing the free basic plan from my employer and then buying coverage from CoveredCA. The next elevated plan is around what I would normally pay for non employed insurance anyways so I’m thinking maybe I can try this & see if I like it, if not I’d probably choose the elevated plan anyways.

I can’t find any info out there to see if this is possible but I want to know what insurance I should choose for my employer.

See also  Covered CA has no record of me having a plan for 2022. But I had a silver 94 plan with blue shield. How do I pay my taxes wo the form?
