Coverage Gap for Dental/Vision – What Are the Impacts? (Maryland)

Ok, probably a dumb and repetitive question but apparently my google and/or reddit search skills are lacking…

What, if any, impacts would come up from having a coverage gap in Dental and Vision? I recently left my job and will be using COBRA to continue my medical coverage. My former employer used a different network for Dental and Vision, and I haven't received any forms from that provider.

I expect to be eligible for dental/vision under a new employer on Sept. 1, so at the moment I'd be going without Dental/Vision for July and August. Presuming nothing kicks up that forces me to back-date the coverage within those 60 (-ish) dates, are there any concerns with a coverage gap comparable to those I would have under medical? It seems like Maryland does not 'require' health insurance, so this is more a question of whether future dental/vision providers will see a gap as problematic in some way(s)? If there's a potential concern I'll pursue the coverage, would rather spend a few bucks now than find out I can't get some future dental work covered because of these two months.

Advice/knowledge/resources appreciated. Thanks!
