Confused by LabCorp OnDemand change with PHE ending regarding lab-based, physician-ordered testing

I received an email that any COVID PCR tests I had received covered by insurance will incur a cost to me if I return them for testing after May 11 (when the PHE ends–although I thought it had ended early already). They also seem to indicate you will need to pay for tests out of pocket after that point.

LabCorp OnDemand has been offering PCR testing with no upfront cost. They have a contracted company PWNHealth that has a physician order the test, they send you the test, and you send it back to them.

They wrote that patients will be responsible for all costs for tests returned after May 11. When I wrote to them to ask them about my insurance, Medicare, seeming to indicate they will continue to pay for lab-based, physician-ordered tests after May 11, they didn't have an answer.

Does anyone know whether the might be interpreting this wrong? As far as I can tell, while OTC tests won't be covered, lab-based tests should continue to be. Maybe they just don't want to work with insurance anymore and are phrasing it differently than the reality.
