Complicated Health insurance situation looking for some guidance.

Hello,

So I am kidney transplant recipient who has medicare due to end stand renal disease as well as private BCBS insurance through work.

We are past the coordination period and medicare is now the primary insurance and BCBS is my secondary.

I receive monthly infusions of anti rejection medication that comes to a total of roughly $32,000 before insurance.

Medicare is billed as the primary and pay around $2000 leaving me with a patient responsibility of roughly $600.

Until recently BCBS had been paying all of the patient responsibility left over from medicare. But recently (FEB 2024) started only paying literally one cent of the bill and leaving the rest as my share saying… "Medicare paid $XXXX amount so we subtracted that from our payment."

Does anyone know if this is correct? I am hesitant to contact BCBS about this incase it turns out they shouldn't have been paying the patient responsibility all those years and ask for tens of thousands of dollars back from me.

Thanks
