I'm getting insurance through my employer and they have offered colonial life to me. After talking to the agent she told me the plan that would be 8% of my paycheck (80-90 dollars) would essentially be an unspecified discount depending on where I go. That alone seems like a scam because I asked if she could give me an average of how much this discount would be in my state and she couldn't tell me. After looking it up I keep seeing it being for old people but I am 21. I are for old people but I am not older myself. The PDF that the agent sent me is for blue cross / blue shield. It doesn't help that when looking up colonial life it sounds like a multi level marketing scheme. I haven't seen anyone speaking about it when offered through their work though, so would it be worth the 8%? I've never navigated health insurance and just need some help to know if I'm about to be scammed.
