Hey, I’m a bit at a loss here on what to do. I left my job (toxic situation). I’m pregnant. My husband is in the process of starting a new business. Cobra would be $2200 a month for our insurance. We have some reserves so we’ll be ok, but didn’t anticipate the insurance being so high.

The marketplace has one plan my OB takes, Community Health Choice, and I want to stay with my OB. That plan is $700/mo but $8K deductible per person. Last birth I just paid a $500 doctor fee. If I change plans, the hospital bill would likely be $10K (estimate from the plan, if birth is uncomplicated).

I have to get frequents tests for this pregnancy. This feels more overwhelming than I had anticipated. Baby is born in Feb, and I’d likely want to switch plans now vs Jan. I’ve never even heard of this company, but the BCBS plans seem like just super high deductible emergency plans.

Any advice? Many thanks in advance.
