Choosing health insurance plan for self-employed parents

Hi everyone,

My dad (63) recently left his job that supplied health insurance to support my mother (63) in her business. Their combined income is about $200,000/year and they live and work in Massachusetts.

My dad:

63 y.o

A bit overweight

Pre-diabetic

Hashimoto’s hypothyroid

Currently taking Wegovy 2.4 mg once per week, Metformin 500mg twice per day, Atovarstatin 40mg once per day, Levothyroxine 75mcg once per day, Lisinopril 20mg once per day, Testosterone injections (60 mg four times a month)

Lab work twice per year

Visit to doctor/specialist 2-3 times per year

My mother:

Given the above information, can I get some advice as to which health insurance plan they should purchase from the MA health connector? I’m a bit over my head with choosing the right one admittedly and would really appreciate the expertise of people in this group. Would also be great to get any ideas on any further cost savings we can look into.

Here are the main options we are considering:

**Standard High Bronze HSA: WellSense Clarity Bronze 3600 ($930.**40 / Monthly for both)

**Standard High Silver: WellSense Clarity Silver 2000 II  ($1208.**36 / Monthly for both)

**Standard High Gold: WellSense Clarity Gold 0 Deductible ($1604.**62 / Monthly for both)

**Non-Standard Low Gold: WellSense Clarity Gold 1500 ($1545.**74 / Monthly for both)

**Standard High Bronze HSA – Flex ($1506.**48 / Monthly for both)

**Standard High Bronze: Tufts Health Direct Bronze 2850 ($965.**76 / Monthly for both)

**Standard Silver: Tufts Health Direct Silver 2000 II ($1282.**06 / Monthly for both)

Thanks in advance for any help I can get on this 🙂
