Cheap Health Insurance for College

Hey all, I'm coming from abroad to go to college in the US and my university requires US health insurance that is in accordance with the affordable care act. I am a US citizen and a European citizen.

I have international health insurance that is a fraction of US health insurance and covers me in the US. It's made especially for international (European students) studying in the US.

My university doesn't accept this and is requiring a US based health insurance. I was wondering what options I have for free/ultra cheap insurance in the US with bare minimum coverage as I'll just use my European insurance for any health things with in the US.

Is Medicade a good option? is there something else I should look into? I've tried contacting the university and they've repeatedly told me it's a no go with the international insurance. The college health insurance is also quite expensive.

For reference I believe the international insurance is about 120$ per month.

Thanks for your help
