Can you compare insurance from the private market without speaking to an agent?
Starting off, I would love to go to the ACA, but I am not eligible to purchase health insurance there because I don’t have enough income. I have applied for Medicaid, but apparently I make too much. There’s another program in the state I’m in, but as I’m disabled I cannot work enough hours to qualify. Not having healthcare, right now, is entirely untenable, as I am pregnant – and I’d like to use the time I’m insured to get some of my chronic conditions diagnosed so they legally exist.
So my only option is private healthcare. I’ve bought that before, but when you have to speak to an agent before you can get any information, they can bully you or be cagey or any number of tactics to get you to sign on without actually giving you the information you need to make an appropriate choice. Is there a way to find and look at options that doesn’t involve speaking to an agent as the first step? And does anyone have any advice that would help me search?
