Can I stay on Medicaid if new job doesn’t offer company-sponsored insurance?(NY)

Will I lose Medicaid if I accept a job that doesn't offer company-sponsored health insurance?

SITUATION:

I'm currently unemployed and on Medicaid. However, I received a job offer from a FL-based company (they also have an office in Los Angeles). The HR person said that since they don't have a national company-sponsored health insurance plan (they only offer FL-based plan) my option for coverage since I live/work in NY is to purchase an insurance plan directly from an insurance company and they would reimburse me 60% of the cost of the plan. (She said this is what they do with their California employees and everyone is happy with the arrangement as it gives them more flexibility in choosing health insurance options.)

The challenge is that New York State does not have the same open market for health insurance that California offers. Meaning, the Californian employees can buy individual plans from providers like Aetna and Cigna whereas in NYS, you can only purchase insurance through the NYS marketplace which is limited to providers like MetroPlus, Emblem Health, Health First, etc. My understanding is that the NYS plans are much more expensive (esp for people over 30) and doctors are less likely to accept it (which is not an issue in CA).

I informed the HR person that health insurance is a meaningful piece of the overall offer package and the arrangement she is suggesting is highly unusual in NYS and not equitable with what my peers in FL and CA would be receiving. Sadly, she does not seem motivated to have a real solution for insurance so this puts me in a difficult spot where I'll have to accept the job.

If I can't get a company-sponsored plan or a solution through a PEO, I'd like to keep Medicaid since I'm happy with that coverage.
