Can I enroll with new insurer to have surgery and still be covered by my husbands insurance (what I also have now)?

Current Insurance: Kaiser Northern CA Zip: 95632

I (37F) had gastric bypass in 2019 through my insurance. I’ve lost about 100lbs and maintained my weight since then. I lift weights and continue to try and improve my body since attaining a new lease on life. I have extra skin due to the rapid weight loss, which is expected. Some patients with my insurance have had skin removal approval with no issue. I have been denied because essentially I don’t have enough skin to warrant it. It’s incredibly irritating that I feel like I’m being punished for not being “big” enough to qualify. I have rash issues that I’ve tried to treat but still denied. Is it possible to change my personal insurance to another provider and continue to be covered under my husband’s insurance(I am currently double covered under the same insurance)to keep my medication? The whole point would to be to see another provider about having my surgery covered but I’m hesitant to change anything without understanding how it would work out.
