Can anyone help me out? I’m having trouble choosing a new plan under employer provided Individual Coverage HRA.

My new job is providing health insurance through an ICHRA system.

It allows you to personally shop for and choose a plan that best suits your needs, and then it reimburses you for premiums and all qualifying medical expenses up to about $1,000 a month. It rolls over as well so if you only spent $300 on health care in a month, the remaining $700 would roll over into the next month so it’s not a use it or lose it situation.

What I’m struggling with is choosing the right plan for where I am now. Prior to my new job, I had a no monthly premium health insurance plan (I think it was under Medicaid), because my income was quite low. I doubt I’ll be able to stay on that plan, and furthermore don’t really want to if I can get better care under a new plan.

I’m in my mid 20’s, male, relatively healthy. I don’t expect to need a great deal of health care but would like to have good options, particularly with regards to mental health care.

I was looking at plans with a monthly premium of ~$600 and a fairly low deductible between $1-2k.

Would that be a reasonable choice or am I being stupid here, not sure what the best move is.

Thanks
