California: Kaiser HMO or Anthem PPO

I’m relatively new being insured so I don’t know a lot of things lol. Most recently I’ve been on Kaiser, which I’ve thought was pretty good. I currently between insurances and now soon I will have the option of Kaiser or Anthem.

Things I liked about Kaiser is that everything is in one place which is convenient. And their over the phone services are at the very least ok for talking to someone however not so great when you actually have a problem and need to see someone in person (which is literally a 3 month out appointment!) I actually have to see someone but can’t for months which is crazy.

Leading me to think that Anthem may be a better option? I’ve never had to do claims or figure out what things are covered, how much my co-pay is? Also not sure difference between co pay and like deductibles and out of pocket?? Everything from Kaiser was like 5-10 bucks a visit. I just actually need to see a doctor soon so I’m thinking this is my best bet but did like the ease of Kaiser. Also I’m not sure how to go about it, do I just call random docs in the network and see if they’re taking patients?

Just interested in hearing everyone’s opinions on either plan as trying to figure out what works best for me.
