[CA] Have MediCal but got a new job and got approved, is it possible to retain MediCal?
I'm clueless so bear with me
I'm almost a month in my new work and we just got our MediCal approved last last week. The household limit for a single person in the letter is 1700, and we applied when I was jobless so now I'm earning a bit more then the limit.
The problem is that the work benefit takes about $60 per paycheck (as I understand it after reading the company brochure) after choosing all the lowest brackets for a Cigna plan. I havent checked if its actually weekly deduction cause I just got approved, and it starts on August. But I think 240 is a LOT for a single person so I may be misunderstanding this (or not)
Regardless, I think the MediCal coverage is better (Caloptima, but havent received the information packet but did get the card), so I was wondering if I would be able to not get my work benefits to lessen the deductions and still receive the MediCal.
I have not been able to reach out to my worker as theyre unresponsive and between work breaks and commutes, I'm not able to reach anyone.
I'm still trying to learn the differences in the plans, and I read somewhere that I may have to pay if I dont update my new work. Am I also able to still use my MediCal plan before my work benefit kicks in?
Any help with this would be appreciated!
