Does it make sense that my Bronze plan in NJ only has $6,000 in coverage? I can’t even get a straight answer if prescriptions are part of that amount.

If you have been following my story here, I lost Medicaid on 6/1. I tried to appeal, but they said we make some tiny amount too much to qualify for it (under $250 total combined for the year).

They gave me this Bronze plan, said I have no other option other than another Bronze plan which has no PCPs in my county.

It isn’t costing me anything. So I guess I can’t complain. I just don’t understand this plan.

Back before the Affordable Care Act, I think I had something similar. My PCP ran 3 sets of labs and I was out of insurance for the year and it was only March.

I thought things were different now.

Part of my issue is when I call, I don’t speak any other language than English and I can’t communicate with the people very well. They aren’t speaking Spanish either. I have friends who could help me if that was the case. I can’t identify the language and I have called 7x now. Did NJ send this to an overseas call center? Idk!

I got a bill for $138, followed by a bill for $0 but no cards or explanation of benefits yet.

I already canceled all my June appointments, I hope I’m not doing the same in July or picking and chosing what is important so I don’t use up my $6,000 quickly.
