Breast Reduction isn’t listed on my benefits as being covered (or not covered), is there still a chance that it can be covered?

Cross posting from r/reduction since I was suggested to come over here, but I had a consultation a few days ago and everything went well. Surgeon said that I was a great candidate and that he was estimating to take out 600g on each side (I am a 34H) and that is way within range of the Schnur Scale that judges based off how many grams will be removed (some insurances use this, like my old one, but idk if this one will).

They are filing my insurance but I’m a little worried that it won’t be covered since my insurance doesn’t mention whether it covers BRs or not. What makes me hopeful is that there are quite a few things listed on there as not being covered (like gynecomastia I think) and BR isnt one of them.

I called and asked and they weren’t much help, all they did was reiterate that it wasn’t on the benefits pamphlet and were unsure about whether this meant it was able to be covered. πŸ˜” I just wanted to ask because I don’t want to get my hopes up if there isnt a lot of chance. Insurance is NC BCBS student Blue btw if that is important. I am 29 and a student (dont want to say what college bc of safety purposes).

I have documented extreme pain with the doctor and given some other complaints. Thanks!
