Blue Cross Medadvantage Oregon delaying rx for "prior authorization" on a Friday night

I called Blue Cross and the dude said he would put in an expedited review, should take 24 hours. 24 business hours. Told me if I needed to call back I should call on Tuesday. It’s a med for my headache, I can’t wait days on end to even start the process with the pharmacy. It’s my mail order pharmacy that has the delay. I asked if i could pay retail, then fight it out about the payment with the insurance company later. (That is what I did in 2015 when they denied my Oxy after open heart surgery.) Mail order pharmacy says they can’t, I should call local pharmacy. So I called Walgreens. They told me it is against the law to bypass the insurance company and do a private pay. I AM NOT BEING VERY NICE BECAUSE I HAVE A HEADACHE, DUH!!!! I don’t see any way to fix this, my hands seem tied. And I haven’t had narcotics since 2015, so it should be pretty obvious I am not drug seeking.

Oh, and this: the guy from Blue Cross told me they need to check with my doctor for prior authorization. I told him if he needed something to show my doctor wants this med for me, maybe they could, you know, refer to the rx he wrote. I’m just furious. And also, I worked for 17 years in health insurance, so I know my way around pretty good, but am still getting screwed. rx;

Cyclobenzaprine Hcl Tabs
10 mg | 30 qty | 10-day supply

I have no idea about this rx. Never heard of it before. So it’s not ringing any bells.
