Blue cross and kaiser won’t agree

My son is having surgery next Wednesday after months of waiting. Turns out, because my husband also has him under his insurance and he is older, he is considered the prime carrier and my insurance won’t proceed without dropping his insurance. We submitted an appeal to his insurance to drop him, but it can take up to 30 days and there’s no guarantee. He can drop him during open enrollment, but won’t take affect until January 2025. Any suggestions on how to speed this process up? It’s been such a headache and of course, everyone just cares about getting paid and not my son. Please help. I’m desperate.

blue cross will not agree to a coordination of benefits with kaiser because they don’t like the percentages kaiser is giving. Kaiser is trying to get a preauthorization for surgery, but blue cross won’t give us information on where to send it. I’ve just spent the last few hours crying. I don’t know what to Do. We put in an appeal and It got denied already. I’m scared now kaiser will bill blue cross, blue cross will deny it, and we will go into medical debt, even though we’re paying for 2 insurances. What else do I do?
