Billed for pointless tests?
I went to my PCP for ED with the intention of receiving a prescription for Viagra or something similar. They basically said they weren't going to give me a prescription and instead collected urine and blood samples and ran tests for "Thyroid hormone (t4) test", "Cholesterol testing", and "Comprehensive health testing". I did not request any of these tests and did not know I'd be billed for them (dumb, I know, but I don't go to the doctor often). After doing some research, these tests don't seem to be useful for diagnosing ED, especially because I told my PCP that my ED is a performance/anxiety issue. My copay for all of these totals about $45, so not the end of the world but is there anyway to contest these worthless tests? Feel like I got duped.
Additionally, the visit was billed as "Doctor's office visit, long", but my PCP only saw me for ~15 minutes (after she was almost an hour late to the scheduled appointment). My copay for this is $150 (billed insurance $320), which seems ridiculous for such a pointless and short visit. Is this worth disputing?
