Bill from service date of 2 years ago

I had health insurance that had a secondary coverage for fertility treatment. This third party was an off shoot of my normal health insurance that worked as the middle man between my clinic and my insurer(UHC). I have had nothing but issues with them submitting bills properly to my insurance(who then works on the claim, goes back to third party, and then I pay the third party directly and they pay my clinic). I am now getting bills from service dates of 2022. They have mismanaged many of my bills, some of them they sent for processing more than once, some of them none at all. My clinic was always happy because they were actually overpaid so they have never come after me. But this third party is now coming back years later saying I owe them money. Is there a time limit for this sort of situation? I literally called them years ago probably 50-100 times trying to get all these bills settled. Eventually they essentially said my clinic was happy and they were just going to call it a wash.
