Are multiple health insurance plans possible?

I’m a broke young man in college. I’m from California and have Medi-cal. But, I currently live in Oregon for school. But, I do have some health conditions I have to regularly take care of so I travel regularly down to California for them.

Well, at my university I have a special life coach and it was suggested I start seeing a therapist or counselor (I am diagnosed with social and general anxiety disorder as well as ADHD). The issue is, I can’t afford to drive weekly down to California and back. So, we looked into the possibility of me getting Oregon health insurance.

Along with this I was also suggested to sign up for help with food.

There didn’t seem to be any catch with that, so I did. Had an appointment, gave my information, filled some paper work. And I was approved.

Well, today, I check my mail, and in it is some mail from ODHS. And my food card was in there. Okay, great. But there was a second letter from ODHS as well…

I opened it up, and it’s a letter confirming my acceptance for the Oregon Health plan along with an Oregon Health ID card with my name on it!

Same, correct address I got my food card from (checked the address to make sure they weren’t fake).

So, my question Is, did they sign me up for both a food card and an Oregon Health Plan at the same time? And if so, will this affect my Medi-cal plan in California?

Is it possible for me to have both a Medi-cal plan and an Oregon health plan?

It’s great if I can, just worried that there might be a mistake.

Thank you very much!
