Anthem – overseas coverage – impossible to get answers

I have an Anthem Platinum PPO 15/250/10% plan. I have tried calling both the GlobalCore and the regular Anthem number to try and get answers on what is covered overseas. One rep told me that the same benefits I enjoy in the US will apply overseas. Another told me that "benefits may apply differently," which is obviously useless in terms of determining if I need travel insurance and how much.

I also asked about an air ambulance, and was told there is no max for in-network, but a $50k max for out of network. This makes no sense to me, since you can't exactly choose your helicopter if you're unconscious. If I happen to get an out of network air ambulance, does that mean a $1m helicopter ride would result in a $100k bill (10% coinsurance), of which Anthem would only pay $50k? Meaning, I'd be responsible for the difference between the Anthem max ($50k) and the 10% coinsurance ($100k), which would be $50k? I don't fully understand if my out of pocket maximum applies in this situation.

Any help would be appreciated.
