AmBetter insurance is useless. It’s cheaper to get dental work without any insurance than through them. The providers are few and far between. Those that they have do have the exact same price. This makes me wonder, Do they have dentists under contract to raise prices to AmBetter’s rate?

Like they set the price for their dentists. But this price is around 3x my other dentist. They bill $500-$600 for a filling, and I get stuck with half of that cost. There’s half a dozen places that do fillings $150 out the door. It’s like insurers bump up prices to guarantee their dentists a set price. On top their dentist will want me to make an appointment for a cleaning as policy before a filling. Feels like price fixing and market manipulation.

And their medical insurance is so inconsistent. Like, I’ll get an appointment to a doctor who is in network, then come time for the appointment they are not. No appointment is local. It’s always 100miles away. Even the doctor will call and say they can’t find a specialist in network. After contacting insurance, they give us a list of in network providers. But when I call the doctors they say that is incorrect. Been trying to get in to a couple specialists for a solid year. The dentist, I’m soon to go to the homeless clinic for help.

AmBetter is a scam. Money laundering or something for whatever corporate affiliations they have. Other customers having this problem should group up and file a complaint with all the proper government agencies.

Until then, my teeth are killing me.
