Buckle up, this is a long ride. We applied for a policy with ambetter in January, coverage to being February 1, our monthly premium will be $810. Early March we realized my wife’s birthday was wrong so we called them to fix it, they sent us to marketplace, everyone assured us it’s no biggie, plan won’t change. End of March I log in to look for a provider and see our plan is suspended, so I call them, they say we voluntarily withdrew. I tell them that never happened, they send me to marketplace. On April 2, they refund me two amounts ($813 & $665). We get a statement in the mail that says we must pay $3057 by May 1 to reinstate our policy or they will cancel it all together. My baby had a dr appoint early May so we needed insurance. So we called multiple times and they just kept saying pay it and we can always credit your account later. So we ultimately had to pay it (which was probably a mistake). Now we should have an almost $800 credit that would cover June’s bill, but they are saying we don’t need a credit. I’ve called 16 times since e the end of March to try and get this resolved and get hung up on, sent to marketplace (who say they can’t help me with billing issues), or I get an actually helpful agent who agrees with me that says they’ll have the billing team do an audit and call me back, but no one ever calls me back.

To be paid thru the end of June we should owe them $4,050. I have paid them $4040 (factoring in the refunds they gave me because I paid those back). So I should only owe $10 for June but they will not listen to me. I’ve asked for an itemized breakdown and they won’t give it. I’ve filed a grievance I’ve heard nothing back about. I’m currently speaking to the escalation team. I just don’t have an extra $800 to pay for this month when I should have a credit for that amount.

Anyone else have a similar issue and able to get it resolved?
