Am I being scammed by a doctor?

I live in Georgia, USA.

I went to the ER 2 months ago because a free clinic I visited thought I was having an ectopic pregnancy. I never went to the ER before so I didn’t really know what to expect but I did expect my bill to be high. I went to a hospital that was in network.

They told me that my bill was $77, insurance covered most.

However, today, I received a bill in the mail with a statement date of earlier this month with an organization that I’m not familiar with.

The bill is $1,045. it said insurance paid for nothing which of course it wouldn’t because they’re not in network, but I looked up the organization and it’s a group of doctors. I never visited this place before but the doctor I saw was in this particular organization.

Am I paying SPECIFICALLY for this doctors services? The hospital I visited that’s in network with me is nowhere on this bill, it just has the name of the doctor and told me where I seen him at which is the hospital that I visited.

Side note: I don’t know if this matters, but my visit was horrible. It wasn’t busy but I was sitting in the room for hours and ready to go, and the nurses left the needle stuck in my arm for hours even after they took my blood. The nurses performed an intravaginal ultrasound on me. The doctor came about an hour or two later, he told me that it looks like a really early pregnancy and to go to an OBGYN in the next 48 hours to make sure my HCG levels are going up and he left the room so I assumed I could leave as well since they already showed me my bill and he told me what I needed to do. I left but then came back because I forgot about the needles and asked the front desk to remove it for me, they asked the doctor if I could leave to make sure and he said yes, but on the report online, he put that I walked out before I could be serviced any further….
