So I have kind of a unique situation where my husband and my father both work for a major employer in our area. They both are union employees in the same union. I turned 26 several months ago but was originally told that I was covered until the end of the plan year which is June 30th. I was added to my husband’s plan as of July 1.

I have since found out that they have not kicked me off my dad’s plan and I should have actually been kicked off my dad’s plan several months ago at the end of the month when I turned 26. So it seems as though I should have gotten a COBRA notice several months ago and then would have triggered a life event to be added to my husband’s plan. I am confused on what happens now. I am concerned there will be issues with all of the claims that I had when I was not supposed to be covered on my dad’s plan.

Please let me know any information about what I can expect as far as claims and coverage rights. Thank you!
