So long story short, I just turned 26 and aged off of my parents plan. Our insurance company sent us a letter saying two conflicting things:
1. I would be aging off and would need to get on my own plan before I turned 26
2. I would have coverage on my parents plan until the end of this year
We called the insurance company and they told us that I was in fact aging off the plan, so we removed me from my plan while applying for my own. Once that was done, they told us that I did not qualify to go on my own plan because I did not have a "qualifying life event", despite them telling us that I would be aging off my parents plan. We tried to get me put back onto my parents plan but they said that since I didn't qualify already that I wasn't able to go back on. What action can I take on the insurance company at this point for giving us conflicting information and leaving me without insurance?
