AetnaCVS Sent Me to an Out-Of-Network Provider

Heya, hope this is the right subreddit/flair.

A while ago, I went onto AetnaCVS's portal to search for a mental health provider(counseling, therapy, etc). I chose one that popped up that was nearest to me- it said that they were in my network. I went onto the counselor's website just to double check, and their website also stated that they accepted Aetna.

I asked my doctor to put in a referral, and after a long while of calling and leaving voicemails, the counselor's office finally called me back to schedule an appointment. The person on the phone asked for my Insurance ID number, but when I gave it to her, she said that they didn't accept my insurance. I told her that I found them from my insurance's portal and that their website said they accepted it, but she said something about third-party insirance or whatever that I don't understand.

So now I'm just confused and I have no idea what to do. Is Aetna different than AetnaCVS? If so, why did my portal refer me to providers that don't take my insurance? I'll likely just have to keep requesting referrals from my doctor, but this one has already taken around a month to get to this point.

I'm so tired cuz I've been trying to get therapy for years, and I'm sorry if this is the wrong place but I'm new to all of this and I need to know what I'm doing wrong or what I need to do to get this fixed. Thank you in advance for any help.

Edit: I'm 21, located in San Antonio, Texas, if that changes things.
