Advice for my girlfriend who just switched jobs? (New insurance doesnt start for 2 months)

So I am asking this for my girlfriend and I apologize if I don't have full information for her options. She recently left a vet reception job that she got insurance from and took a higher paying vet HR position.

However she just informed me that she didn't know that her job was cutting her health insurance off so fast? I don't know exactly how she didnt know this but maybe there was some confusion, or simply unprepared?

Anyways she started her new job last week and her health insurance there doesn't cut in for 2 months.

I've very ignorant about health insurance in general, I have my own business and get mine through united Healthcare and never had to bother getting it through some other source.

I tried listening to doctor radio and researching, a lot of advice talked about COBRA but it seems like that should have been completed knowing she was going to leave job because I heard it can take up to 4 weeks for it to kick in?

Basically if anyone could help me give her information for the cheapest options available to her the fastest so she is covered for 2 months? She is very stressed out and I'm wishing I knew more to help her.

The state is in Maryland.
