30-Day Sterilization Consent/Waiting Period for Private Insurance?

Do some private insurances NOT make you sign a 30-day consent form and wait the 30 days before being sterilized? I have a bilateral salpingectomy scheduled for Monday and I was talking to my sister today and she mentioned how odd it was that I didn’t have to wait 30 days like she did. At the time, she had a Medicaid plan (TennCare). I have a Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN plan (no federal funding/Medicaid). It’s through my work so I think it’s considered private. My consult was only 2 weeks ago and I wasn’t scheduled until September but they had a cancellation for 7/31 and I took it. So it’s only been 2 weeks, and I haven’t signed any forms yet but they’ve finished my registration and given me a cost estimate over the phone. I’ve googled this for hours and it looks like this is a requirement for insurances that receive federal funding? The scheduler and the billing person who called me never mentioned a waiting period or consent form, and I’ve spoken to their office multiple times. Is this just not required with some insurances? My surgery is 6:30 am on Monday and they’re closed so I can’t call and ask anyone before I go in person on Monday. This seems like it would be a big oversight on their part though if my insurance did require it? Is it common for private insurances to not require this? I have BCBS of TN, network S, premier PPO. I can’t get in touch with them or the hospital/OB’s office as it’s the weekend and my surgery is first thing Monday morning.
