2 month gap in insurance, coverage for dependent question

Hi all….forgive me if a similar question has been answered previously but I tried searching this subreddit and wasn’t able to find a situation similar enough to mine. Hoping to get some advice on how to approach our impending insurance situation:

1) husband is switching jobs. we are currently covered under my husband’s employer’s plan which will end August 31st. Insurance at new job will begin 60 days after start date, so November 1st, leaving us with a gap of 2 months. 2) COBRA is insanely expensive and I have read that you have 60 days to retroactively sign up for it, so in theory we could go the 2 months and hope for the best but if something were to happen we could submit the paperwork for COBRA to cover that gap, correct? That could work for the two of us HOWEVER 3) we have an 11 month old baby and I would like to make sure she continues to have coverage for any necessary immunizations/healthcare that is needed during this gap. Is it possible to get low/no cost coverage just for her for those 2 months? Where do I even look for that, on the marketplace? Would she qualify for Medicaid? Can we have her covered under a separate plan and still invoke COBRA retroactively for ourselves if needed?

I so appreciate any advice, thanks.
