The best bits of ‘top 10s’ with Carl Fogarty at Motorcycle Live 2022

The best bits of ‘top 10s’ with Carl Fogarty at Motorcycle Live 2022

Our brand ambassador Carl Fogarty celebrated a decade of working with Bikesure by discussing a series of his ‘top 10s’ during the final weekend of Motorcycle Live 2022.

Foggy spent time during the mornings of November 26th and 27th meeting and greeting his army of adoring fans as well as posing for photos and signing autographs.

But it was during the afternoons when he took to the mic on our stand to reveal some of his favourite things at the NEC in Birmingham – as well as discovering we had a few surprises up our sleeve for the superbike legend!

Who is seven-time world champion Carl Fogarty’s hero?

The Blackburn icon hasn’t raced for over 20 years but still remains a star attraction at annual events like Motorcycle Live. But who does he look up to?

He discussed his top 10 sportsmen and women of all time, a list that included Ayrton Senna, and while he’s inspired by many, it’s a very different character who Foggy would consider his hero.

“I aspire to be Homer,” smiled the four-time World Superbike champion after his wife Michaela had informed us that her husband has spent the last 25 years watching The Simpsons every night while having his tea at 6pm.

“He’s a yellow big blob of a cartoon character but I aspire to be him, he’s my hero. The world according to Homer is such a great world and a great place to be. The Simpsons is my favourite TV programme, even if I forgot to list it in my top 10 – I messed up there.”

Superbike legend Carl Fogarty tips France to win World Cup 2022

Foggy may have struggled to list his top 10 favourite sports – he only has four: motorsport, football, rugby union and boxing.

Yet he had plenty to say about the performance of Gareth Southgate’s team so far during World Cup 2022 in Qatar as they prepare to lock horns with Wales in the final game of the group stages.

Carl, answering the top 10 questions that had come in on social media channels across both days, said: “Yes, I have been watching the football World Cup, and no, England can’t win it. I just can’t see them winning it.

“You just don’t know what you’re going to get with them to be honest. They almost seem tired to me, they just don’t seem to press and, I don’t know, they just don’t seem up for it at all really. We’ll see against Wales what happens then. Obviously they need to win that, I think they probably will win it, but I really can’t see them going all the way. I’d say quarter-finals at best. I think France could win it again.”
