Motorists, including all those drivers working in the motor trade industry will be delighted to learn that JCB have come to the rescue of Britain’s roads with the revolutionary Pothole Pro, a machine that can fix a pothole in a jiffy!

With the machine’s three attachments to cut, crop and clean, councils don’t even need to hire additional specialist equipment or manpower, just add tar and you’re good to go! To date, this machine has now fixed over 23,000 miles of roads throughout the UK, including place like Stoke-on-Trent and Coventry, both of which highlighted its success.

Insurance companies’ take calls all the time from their customers enquiring about the damage caused to their vehicles by potholes, but before picking up the phone to an insurance broker you might want to read through your private or motor trade insurance policy to see if you’re covered first.

In 2021, this miracle machine was trialled in the UK, it fixed three years’ worth of potholes in a mere four months. In November last year, data released by the Department for Transport (DfT) analysing the conditions of roads across the country shows that there has been no improvement in the last two years, but with the Pothole Pro, they can now be fixed in a flash! And the best part is, it only costs around £30 a pothole – a fraction of the cost of traditional repairs.

This revolutionary machine development has been led by JCB chairman, Lord Bamford, who described potholes as the ‘scourge of our nation’ and that he is ‘personally’ fixated on finding a solution’ to eradicate them.

He said: “We simply cannot allow our road network to continue to be blighted by potholes,’ he explained. “JCB’s solution is simple and cost effective and fixes potholes permanently, first time. Once the machine has done its job all the contractor then needs to do is just add tar.”

One third of all local roads in England are now in need of urgent maintenance and repair according to statistics collected from 109 local authorities. Six-in-ten drivers believe the condition of local roads they use regularly are worse than a year ago, with a similar proportion (55%) complaining about the standard of pothole repairs is – at best – ‘poor’, but with the Pothole Pro, all those worries can now be fixed in a just few minutes!

RAC reported recently 3,102 drivers believed their local roads had gotten worse, rising by an astounding 8% from 52% motorists in 2020. RAC head of roads policy said: “Our research shows that the majority of drivers believe local road conditions have worsened in the last 12 months and our Pothole Index suggests drivers are around 1.5 times more likely to suffer a pothole-related breakdown than they were in 2006.”

Hopefully, it won’t be too long now before these pesky potholes are no longer ruining our day!
