Hi!

I’ll preface by saying that I’ve emailed my advisor for further info, but am waiting a reply so opted to also ask here.

I had an existing term life insurance policy and opted to increase it at the beginning of September because we purchased a new house (I suppose this might count as a “new” policy?). I’ve been paying my updated premium since October.

Beginning of November, a nurse calls me and says she has a request for blood work & urine sample from my life insurance company – I assumed this was a basic screening measure and completed it. Can’t access my results as I was told I’d be able to though.

No follow up until today when I get a call from my insurance company to complete a health questionnaire. I did this exact health questionnaire when I got my first term policy with them years ago.. was the exact same questions. There was no suspicious questions asked involving SIN# or anything beyond name & DOB. And the phone call came from a # that does belong to my insurance company.

Is it normal to have this screening completed months later when my new policy is already active for nearly 4 months (old policy with them was active for around 4 years?).

(I’m a 31F, non-smoker, healthy).
