The Issue

A few models of the Britax One4Life Slim, model numbers E1D197A, E1D197B, E1D197F, and E1D17G, include a label that lists an incorrect rear facing weight limit of 40 pounds when the seat is installed with lower anchors.   The correct weight limit is 35 pounds.  If your child weighs more than 35 pounds and your One4Life Slim is installed rear facing, please install this seat using the vehicle seat belt.

The seats impacted by this recall were made between July, 10, 2024 – July 12, 2024.

The Remedy

The remedy for this recall is an updated label that will be sent to all registered owners in mid December, 2024.  Owners who haven’t registered their seat can contact Britax directly by calling 1-833-474-7016.

Summary

Britax Child Safety, Inc. (Britax) is recalling certain One4Life Slim ClickTight All-in-One car seats with model numbers E1D197A, E1D197B, E1D197F and E1D17G. The labels and user guide incorrectly state the maximum rear-facing lower anchor weight. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 213, “Child Restraint Systems.”

Remedy

Britax will mail owners new labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed December 18, 2024. Owners may contact Britax customer service at 1-833-474-7016.
