The 2024 NIBA Convention, recognised as a cornerstone event for Australia’s insurance broking sector, has officially sold out ahead of its start on Sunday, October 20, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Spanning two and a half days from October 20 to 22, the event is set to welcome about 800 delegates.

Broking profession’s flagship event

The program will include 21 sessions featuring 51 speakers and over 85 exhibitors.

The convention offers a key forum for industry discussions on the future of insurance and provides an opportunity for professionals across the broking and insurance industries to connect.

NIBA president Gary Okely underscored the convention’s role in bringing together brokers from across Australia.

“The NIBA Convention is the broking profession’s flagship event. It is the meeting place for brokers of all sizes and geographies to collaborate, learn, and build stronger networks,” he said.

Celebrating insurance brokers’ achievements

The event will also serve as a platform to acknowledge industry achievements over the past year, with eight key awards to be presented. These include:

Additional categories will recognise the Community Excellence Member of the Year, sponsored by Liberty Specialty Markets, as well as honours for the Large General Insurer of the Year, Specialty Insurer of the Year, Underwriting Agency of the Year, and the Lex McKeown Trophy.

“The NIBA Convention is the one place where the community comes together as the one united voice of the sector,” he said, adding that the event provides a stage for brokers to demonstrate their dedication to the highest standards of professionalism.
