Beneficiary – my aunt passed away and we suspect her husband didn’t disclose insurance information to the family

Hello ~ long shot if anyone would know. My aunt passed away about a month ago (cardiac arrest) and I was tasked to retrieve her cremains from her widowed husband as her last wishes were to be brought back home (outside the USA) as her final resting place. Her insurance policy beneficiary didn't occur to us until recently when her sister also passed away… plus the fact that we found out her "widowed" husband apparently now has a new girlfriend that he visited soon after her death (in the Philippines)!

Our family is trying to find out who my aunt may had written down as her beneficiary, but also without having to contact her widowed husband. I have submitted the inquiry to the NAIC portal, but I'm afraid I will not get a response back as I am positive I was not the one she wrote down as a beneficiary. I am currently in possession of only her cremains and death cert so most of the important information, i.e. Social Sec #, I can provide.

Any advise with how to proceed would be greatly appreciated!
