PERse welcomes three casualty specialists for renewable energy

President comments on the strong background of the new hires

PERse Americas (PERse), a managing general underwriter specializing in renewable energy insurance, has announced the addition of three casualty insurance experts to its team. This development follows Ryan Specialty’s acquisition of Ethos Specialty Insurance’s property and casualty (P&C) managing general underwriters.

The new hires, previously with Ethos Specialty, will contribute to PERse’s growing portfolio in the clean technology and renewable energy space. The team includes:

Tayler Marshall, who has been appointed as vice president – casualty. She brings nine years of industry experience and most recently served as vice president of clean tech at Ethos Specialty. She has also been described to have extensive experience in underwriting captive and program P&C lines, along with excess casualty and products liability.

Marshall holds multiple insurance designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and advanced degrees in English, Communication, and Human Resource Development.

Adam Bitar, having been appointed as underwriter. Bitar has a background in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He previously worked as a technical underwriter at Ethos, analyzing casualty risks for clean technology. Adam’s background includes solar development, nuclear industry manufacturing, and policy work related to carbon capture and sequestration.

William Gallagher, with his appointment as associate underwriter. Gallagher is a Wharton graduate with a degree in Economics. He was previously an associate underwriter at Ethos Specialty. His expertise lies in providing casualty insurance for clean technology products.

As part of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, PERse provides insurance solutions tailored for the renewable energy industry, including coverage for wind, solar, bioenergy, hydro, battery storage, and hydrogen projects.
