Circle Medical Billing Nightmare

I used Circle Medical to get a prescription for ADHD medication and was seen three times, twice as intake and one as a follow up. Their website advertises that it’s a one-visit or same-day process to get the prescription, but for some reason, it ended up taking an additional visits. The first visit alone cost over $300, and the second (unexpected) visit was nearly $500. I’ve now been billed for over $1000 for three visits that took less than 10 minutes each.

The nurse practitioner (NP) I saw is in-network with my insurance, and I verified this with my insurance company several times. The issue is that Circle Medical is billing under their health director, a person I never saw as a patient, which means my insurance isn’t covering it as they should. When I contacted Circle’s customer service, they told me that they only bill under this director and that they’re “waiting to hear” from their clinical leadership to see if they can re-bill me. It’s been over a week of back-and-forth with no real answers, and now it’s been three days since I last heard anything from them.

I’m stuck with over $1000 in bills for what should have been covered by my insurance and was MAYBE 30 minutes of actually being seen, and I can’t seem to get any resolution. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Should I keep pushing them to re-bill or try something else? Any advice on how to handle this with the insurance company or the provider? Thinking maybe a complaint with the BBB?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
