Hello, I have been on hold with MetroPlus for over an hour while typing this so I figured I'd try here.

I signed up for a MetroPlus PlatinumPlus-P2 plan through my state health insurance marketplace (NY). I did this on October 1st. On the state marketplace website, it says my plan is 9/1/24 to 12/31/24 (Why 9/1 if I signed up in October….am I expected to pay for September?) I received an invoice directly from MetroPlus dated 10/4 via email on 10/7. The amount due is three times my monthly premium. I have no option for an invoice breakdown, actually the only link on the page is broken anyway. Is this amount due just my cost for the rest of this year (October 1st – Dec 31) and if so why is it being charged all at once? I wanted to verify since it's almost 4k. Going forward in 2025 can I expect to pay the monthly premium monthly or is it going to be more lumpsum payments because that's a lot of money to expect me to pay all at at once?

Sorry for dumb question as I am not very knowledgeable in regards to health insurance despite my best attempts so far. Thanks in advance.
