Good Independent Insurance Plans

Hi Everyone,

I work in healthcare and have terrible insurance and I am looking to make a switch.

I currently have insurance through my employer. I make between $100K-$150K/year as a full time employee. The insurance is Cigna and I pay $200 per paycheck for the cheapest plan for just me.

I am a healthy 28 year old with no real health issues. I only use insurance for annual physicals & bloodwork, biannual dentist appointments, annual eye exams, and the occasional urgent care visit when I am very very sick.

Is there any independent insurance plan I could get on that would be good for me? I am so frustrated dealing with this insurance. I went to an in-network urgent care in January and continue to receive the $300 bill for it. I’ve been communicating back and forth with insurance and with the urgent care to get this resolved. I am beyond pissed at this point. Paying so much out of each paycheck only for it not to be covered when I need to go to an urgent care once in a blue moon.

I would much rather just not have insurance and then pay the $300 out of pocket. I used to have Aetna with my old job and everything was a breeze. I paid $56 per paycheck and everything was covered.
