My guess is this is a pretty tired question at this point but: hra vs hsa? I just started a new job and they offer a couple options. The premiums are within a couple dollars of each other so that’s a toss up. The hra has a $1000 deductable with a $400 dollar debit card issued by the company, essentially making the deductable $600. Out of pocket max is $2500. The hsa has a $1600 deductible with a $600 one time contribution from the company and an out of pocket max of $3000. Seems like the general consensus is HSA when given the choice. I don’t often go to the doctor but I am semi frequently in the ER getting stitches and X-rays (in the last 2 years I’ve hit a deer and been hit by car on my motorcycle, broken my wrist and tore my ACL in a cycling accident) plus all the PT and aftercare associated with injury. I don’t plan on changing hobbies so I don’t expect those expenses to lessen, one can hope tho. I’m more leaning towards an hra to have less out of pocket potential, am I overlooking anything? I do have a 401k that I found pretty heavily so the savings aspect is a little less enticing to me.

Any insight is appreciated and apologies for asking such a redundant question!
